Jenniferis the only staff member that my son has consistently recognized and remembered her name. That says a lot considering his short term memory is sometimes just minutes. Jennifer is always enthusiastic and enters the room with a big smile and a positive attitude that is infectious. She is very attentive and always quick when there is a need. As my son's graduation from high school was approaching, I was excited yet finding it bittersweet. Media got us ready to view live via Skype on my son's TV in his room. The night before we went to Walmart to find something festive for the room. Looking through cards, bittersweet turned to sadness and remembering my son finally agreeing to senior pictures and walking with his class, now impossible due to his severe TBI acquired in his accident. The 2ndmilestone since the accident now another stark moment in reality of the challenges my son faces for the rest of his life. Feeling the sadness and walking to my son's room the next morning, I came around the corner and saw that his door and nameplate had been decorated. That stopped me in my tracks as mascara ran down my face. In his room were cupcakes and later a card. Jennifer knew the internal struggle and heartache, and turned sadness into a real celebration for us. She went out of her way and gave of herself personally to make the day special and her gift was priceless at the time we needed it most. Jennifer is a blessing in a journey no one is prepared for.
