Jennifer constantly looks for new ways to enrich the lives of her patients and families. In addition to providing excellent nursing care, Jennifer promotes family involvement. As each holiday approaches, she creates special keepsakes for the family. Whether it be a Christmas ornament or a name card for the bedside, Jennifer ensures that each family receives some type of memento.
Jennifer was caring for an infant whose mother was in the ICU. This mom was in extremely critical condition, and the father was holding vigil by her bedside. Jennifer felt that it was important that the baby be allowed to be with his mom. With much teamwork, the infant was transported to the ICU and placed on the mother's chest. Pictures were taken of the baby with both mom and dad. The baby touched his mother's face and rooted closer to her. Everyone believed that both the infant and mother were aware of each other's presence. What a beautiful experience for all involved! On this day, Navicent's Core Values were greatly demonstrated.
