Jennifer stepped in and showed her ability to be an outstanding example of a professional nurse. She helped me progress through labor, explaining in detail possible next steps based on the baby's heart rate and fetal monitoring data. She let me know when he started to show signs of distress and how she planned to protect him while progressing labor. When it came time to push, after three pushes and one contraction the baby arrived with the cord around his neck.
Jennifer remained calm, removed the cord and delivered my son as the rest of her resource team arrived. As a first-time mom, it was not expected for my baby to arrive after so few pushes but Jennifer never wavered in her professionalism and kept me informed about what was going on throughout the entire experience. I never felt fear or doubt about my delivery because Jennifer is an outstanding nurse that demonstrates a large knowledge base, confidence, and the utmost professionalism. She truly is an example of a great nurse—and as a nurse myself, I am happy to have her represent our profession.
