After seeing Jenny the first time, he stated that he would rather drive to the clinic for help instead of having the nurse come to his home. Jenny willingly took him and helped him nurse his leg wound.
Jenny has been working alongside me as my right hand LVN for the last couple of years since the start of my employment. She’s fast, efficient, but careful and thorough in everything that she does. Even though she may be great with her speed, she never forgets to be courteous to our veterans/patients and their families. She assures that all vets are provided with quality service and care from the moment they enter our clinic to the point at which they leave. But her amazing assistance doesn’t stop there. Even when she picks up the phone to answer a vet’s inquiry she helps lead the way so that they get the right assistance. She’s bright, optimistic, and an innovator at work and her bubbly personality is infectious. She has a knack for being quite the genius when it comes to researching and implementing ways to improve our clinical quality metrics/KPI and has been able to help our entire team make a huge turnaround resulting in making our clinic one of the highest performing outpatient care clinics in our VA operating systems/region. She’s always one to share her knowledge and works really well with others. She’s patient with other when she teaches and trains them. Even when challenges are presented to her, she always navigates them with confidence and certainty that she will succeed, which is truly inspirational and commendable. This nomination is dedicated to her in hopes that her hard work and diligence as a dedicated nurse, doesn’t go unnoticed.
Jenny is always up for a challenge. Jenny has a vast experience in wound care stemming from her previous job experience. Since we are a small clinic, we do not have unlimited resources in regards to wound care supplies. We get patients who walk-in for decubitus ulcers, gun shot wounds, or just an elderly patient with a simple cut. Jenny is always willing to help. She makes do with the supplies we have as well as the supplies the patient brings to her and helps the patient in need. We had one patient last year who came in because he was unhappy with the wound care he got from the wound care nurse. He had such a bad experience with the wound care nurse that there was no pleasing him. After seeing Jenny the first time, he stated that he would rather drive to the clinic for help instead of having the nurse come to his home. Jenny willingly took him and helped him nurse his leg wound. She took her time to make sure the patient was treated with dignity and respect despite the patient being agitated with the previous nurse. The patient came for 2 weeks straight and his wound was gradually looking better. He was thankful Jenny helped him because---according to him, he was overcome with anxiety in the thoughts of possibly losing his limb if the wound did not heal properly. When the vets at the clinic are in need of wound care, they usually prefer to come drive to our clinic because they know Jenny will take care of them for sure even if our supplies are limited. She is a great asset to our team.
