Jenny exemplifies the kind of nurse that patients and families, as well as other members of the InterdisciplinaryTeam,recognize as an outstanding role model. To say Jenny has served and dedicated time to 4S/4SE is an understatement.
Jenny started on 4S as a PCT, then a Nurse Tech, graduated nursing school and became an RN on the unit, and most recently, flawlessly transitioned into the role of an RN3 on 4SE.
As an RN3 on the unit, Jenny has taken it upon herself to be involved with bettering the unit.
She changed her schedule from day shift to evening shift one day a week to make sure she is available to the night shift staff. She is frequently in charge when she is on the floor on 4SE and makes being in charge look easy! She communicates effectively with all staff in various careareaswhile continuing to be a great reference for people and offers great advice. If she doesn't know the answer, she doesn't stop until she finds it.
Jenny is approachable and makes others feel validated when they have concerns. She is patient, positive, uplifting, empathetic and kind. When working with patients, Jenny is a fierceadvocate makingsure all of their needs are met and puts their safety first. She provides caring, compassionate care to all of her patients, as well as supports the staff in her role as RN3 and charge nurse.
Her thoughtfulness and compassion make her an incredible nurse and strong leader on 4SE, as well as an outstanding mentor and role model. Jenny's level of care, quick thinking, and level-headed leadershipisexemplary in the face of challenge; she remains calm in stressfulsituationsand provides support to all staff members.
Jenny always has a smile on her face and comes to work ready to make a difference; she is a brilliantnurseand a compassionate human being who loves and cares for her coworkers, patients, and their families. She is truly an incredible asset to the University of Washington Medical Center and 4SE. Jenny is an extraordinary nurse.
