Jenny is a nurse who pours her entire heart and soul into giving her patients excellent care. Jenny recently has excelled taking care of a young spinal cord injury patient. She was assigned to be his primary nurse on the days she worked at the request of the patient and his family. This patient was a 27 year old male who was admitted to MVH after a traumatic swimming accident. He is now a paraplegic and is dealing with the new physical and mental challenges of his condition. Jenny was not intimidated by his many co-morbidities and challenging emotional status. She made it her goal to give him the best care possible every day that she cared for him. Jenny would take the time to go the extra mile for the patient and his family. Some examples of special care that she provided because she knew it was important to him included rubbing his feet, adjusting his bed for him, listening to his needs and knowing that these interventions would improve his outcome both physically and emotionally. She was diligent about keeping his family involved and updated. Jenny did an amazing job and was greatly appreciated by the patient and his family.
