Jesse always has a smile on his face and a bubbly personality that makes every patient feel safe, secure, cared for, and heard. Not only does he sit at the bedside and make sure his patients feel heard and cared for, but he does the same for our team in the Emergency Department.
When we think about the type of nurse we would want if we were a patient, or if our family ended up in an Emergency Room, Jesse is the nurse I think of. Jesse has the heart and passion anyone could want to take care of them or a family member. We know an ER visit isn't always planned or expected and nurses like Jesse make the unexpected not so shocking or frightful. His knowledge, expertise, and skills are top-notch. He is the nurse that is confident in his skills, has great time management, and one of the best bedside manor personalities I have seen.
Every patient interaction when it is the three of us (myself, Jesse, and a patient) in a patient room, Jesse is attentive, passionate, and caring. He educates every patient on what is going to happen and why it is going to happen.
Jesse is a nurse who isn't afraid to be a tech for a while if we are overloaded with tasks - he jumps right in and helps provide patient care, helps us do vitals, EKGs, ambulatory trials - anything asked of him. He is a team player and always has your back.
When I think of Jesse outside of being a phenomenal nurse, he is a person with a huge heart and has amazing advice to share. He is there to boost you up, put a smile on your face, and help you along the way to be successful.
There have been times that I have hit a low and he has been there to listen, support, advise, and pick me up. Thank you is so easy to say and very well deserved at the end of every day, but Jesse deserves more than a thank you. Nurses like him deserve recognition for the dedication to their job, the care they provide, and the knowledge they share. Jesse truly makes a shift at work instantly better. If I walk in and see Jesse, I know I am going to have an amazing shift.
