Jessica – Each and every time she walked in the room, she brought a warm smile and upbeat/caring attitude. She was always kind and compassionate and did everything in her power to make sure my wife was as comfortable as possible – both physically and emotionally. She never complained about my seemingly endless questions or even the most basic requests. She took as much time as needed to help me understand all the medications in use and never hesitated to contact the doctor if she couldn’t answer anything herself or if we felt something needed to be adjusted. Specifically, she managed our request to get my wife off Ativan and onto a different anxiety med, which ultimately resulted in a profound improvement in her condition. She also doubled down on her kindness with our children too anytime they were in the room, going as far as to bring them stickers just because.

Nicole – The first evening she worked with my wife, she went out of her way to spend over 15 minutes just listening to her story, why she was there, her medical past, and everything to get a better understanding of who she was and how she could help her. She even ignored a call to stay focused on my wife. Never in our hospital experience has anyone spent that amount of time just listening and being present. She was always extremely helpful with keeping me informed on any overnight changes as well as answering my endless questions in full technical detail. Also, she sat with my wife in the middle of the night and talked her through a panic attack, whereas many others would just give her medication and leave. This is so above and beyond that words, themselves are not enough to represent what her care has meant to my wife and me. She also kept professionally pushing my wife to her next goals, even for the simplest of things like taking a shower or getting a meal. She sets the standard for nursing care.

Both: There is absolutely zero doubt that my wife is being discharged sooner than would have been possible without the incredible care provided by these two nurses. Their professionalism, empathy, and kindness made a significant difference with regard to improving her health and reducing my stress and worry throughout her stay. We’ve worked with a lot of great nurses over the years; however, these two absolutely set the standard for care – we’re so lucky to have been under their care throughout our stay.
