My family and I were on our way to visit my daughter when I began having trouble breathing. I told the driver to get off the freeway and find a hospital because I couldn't breathe. She ran red lights and stop signs to get me to the ER fast. The last thing I remember seeing is the "Emergency" sign, taking off my seat belt, and hearing my granddaughter say "Granny, don't die". My family said I passed out so they started screaming for help in the ER parking lot. Thankfully, nurse Jess Beckwith was across the parking lot and heard my families cries for help. Jess ran all the way over to help.
When I woke up, I was in the ICU with a breathing tube in my mouth, my hands restrained, and my family around me. Today I am breathing on my own and alive thanks to my guardian angel Jess for saving my life that day.
Jess loves her job and I thank God she was here that day to help save my life!
