It is evidence of her heart in serving her patients and their families, not just with her skills but with true, heartfelt compassion.
Nurse Gail had communicated to me that the hospital had arranged to provide the needed oxygen to be able to continue to care for Dad in their facilities until room became available. When she arrived for her shift the following day and found that Dad had been transferred, she took the time to personally call me and expressed how sad she was that he had been moved. The kind and compassionate words she spoke about Dad and her obvious genuine care for his well-being touched our hearts deeply! Sadly, we lost Dad. Gail’s words meant so much to us that we shared them in Dad’s memorial service. Nurse Gail went beyond her scope of professional responsibility in making that personal call. It is evidence of her heart in serving her patients and their families, not just with her skills but with true, heartfelt compassion. Our family is forever grateful for Nurse Gail and the many other staff that provided such exceptional, compassionate care for Dad. We continue to keep you in our prayers as you serve your community on the front line in these pressing and challenging times.
