It had been such a struggle to make it to the floor room. I had spent 3 days in the extended ER room. My issue involved the GI tract and a UTI. Spending one day to get settled in, Jessica came in one morning. Jessica came in with a quiet confidence that echoed her experience. She suggested the medicine could be easier for me to understand if we set up a plan. I was going to be to take a bit less of an IV medicine which I would have to do to go home. I was able to follow her set up for the week. Jessica had given me a small sliver of control over my health care – and that gave me hope the end would come. 

Jessica is kind, funny, and intelligent. After spending the first paragraph talking about her intelligence, I will round the nomination out with her kindness, ability to listen and humor. As a patient, having someone listen is very comforting. Jessica never acts as though she is trying to rush you or trying to find a quick exit. I know I am not her only patient, and I am certain these traits are examples of what makes her a great nurse to all of her patients. 

Jessica has a great sense of humor and uses it to keep her patients comfortable. I had told her about a couple of incidents, and instead of making me feel bad, she was able to turn it around gracefully. 

Jessica is not only an amazing nurse, but also an incredible human. 16 Roberts is better with Jessica as a contributor. But more importantly, Baylor is a better hospital because Jessica is a part of the staff. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
