Jessica Hancock is all that a nurse should be. Admission to an oncology unit is scary and especially after a new diagnosis.
The doctor did not really know fully what was wrong and everyone was very stressed. Jessica makes you feel like you are the only patient she has. She was with us several nights and knew just what to say and do when anxiety and stress levels were high. She always kept us informed. She kept us well educated. She was a tremendous advocate. She listened so well and really did all in her power to create the best patient experience.
Being nurses at Palmetto Health we know what the expectations are. If we could clone Jessica we would. She is knowledgeable in her field. She is caring, compassionate, and friendly and all that nurses should strive to be. She deserves the DAISY Award. Her kindness and expertise will never be forgotten. She made a frightening experience so much easier. She is a gift from God.
