That day, Jessica, you became an extension of my family. I will forever be grateful for your selflessness.
Jessica cared for my father during his limited stay at Baxter Regional. My father was stage 4 cancer and receiving Chemotherapy when he contracted COVID-19. He never feared cancer but he was terrified of COVID-19 knowing the implication was that he would die alone without his family. You called me to let me know that time was elapsing. You and I had spoken several times and you were aware of my father's fears. I did the unthinkable and begged you to prevent him from being alone during his final moments. You and your team allowed me to say goodbye via an iPad. As you promised you were right beside him reassuring him, calming him through his fears, and most of all holding my father's hand as he left this world.
That day, Jessica, you became an extension of my family. I will forever be grateful for your selflessness; being there when I could not be, your heroism in carrying my fears, my father's final struggle through your own fears were handled with GRACE. Your incredible sacrifice for others in their most desperate moments is something that I will cherish and treasure always. I miss my father every moment of the day but find peace that he had you. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you now and always.
