After our arrival at the Emergency Department, my fiancée and I were given life-changing news. Everything was happening very quickly. Being in the medical field myself, I know this is what happens; however, I was lost in all of the controlled chaos, and I lost control of my emotions.
Shortly after being sent to the 2nd floor ICU waiting room, I wasn't sure what was going on behind the doors. I was left alone to try to hold myself together; I was later found by Jessica. She told me she would be taking care of my fiancée. She sat with me, explained what was going on, answered my questions, and reassured me he would be okay. From the moment she sat down with me, she put my fear and emotions at ease. She was his nurse for several days.
On the day Jessica wasn't his nurse, she still checked on us. She treated us with the most compassion we have ever experienced. She stuck with us, kept us informed, and listened when I needed to talk. She went above and beyond to make sure my fiancée was comfortable and made sure I got whatever I needed. Honoring her with this award could never be enough for the love, strength, compassion, and knowledge she has shown. Jessica let her passion for her career shine bright in her work.
***
Jessica was very passionate in all ways. She made sure I was doing OK, and she made sure my family was informed. She was helpful with any questions we had.

Jessica has been awesome with the care, passion, and nursing skills she used to take care of my son. She takes her time and explained everything to him and me, whatever she's doing. I've never experienced such compassion and comfort given to me as well as my son (the patient). She is truly a DAISY! She is one of the first nurses he had, and I was so happy to see her again when he was moved from the ICU to the PCU. God bless you, Jessica. I love and appreciate you and the care you give.

Jessica is very special to me and my family. She is very caring and very gentle. She is also very special because she took her time with D, and she explained everything that she did so that he was very comfortable. She is truly an angel and a DAISY!
