Over the past month, I had three separate procedures and had the pleasure of having the staff work with me. The staff themselves were all special and attentive to my needs. (The) 1st time, the nurse who was trying to insert my IV needle was having a hard time due to my rolling veins. She (Jessica) saw this and took over within a few seconds.

On the next visit, she saw me and was there when it came time to insert the needle in my vein again. What a relief. Do not get me wrong, the rest of the staff was always helpful and compassionate. The original nurse even called Jessica when it was time to insert the IV needle for the third time. The following day, I had a visit with my urologist to remove my catheter. She (Jessica) was downstairs to greet me just to see how my night had been. It was terrible but just seeing her happy face made me forget about what was about to happen to me when they removed my catheter. Harlingen OPC should be so proud of the staff they have. So many great people at the VA Harlingen. But once again, Jessica Abrego is my Shining Star.
