A patient was desatting (found to be in the high 50's) and having a panic attack at the same time. While at the bedside with her and the patient I was able to witness Jessie encourage the patient to practice proper breathing techniques, pray with the patient, and relate to this patient as she herself suffers from asthma. The way she talked with this patient in a calm soothing manner while he was terrified helped the situation greatly. During the Covid Pandemic, I watched her frequently use the same calming techniques on patients, pray with them (and their families) and sing to them as they passed away. The compassion Jessie exhibits is exemplary. Moments like this truly highlight what an extraordinary nurse Jessie is.
