Her kindness, empathy, and knowledge made my husband and I feel like we were in good hands and that we had a nurse who listened to our concerns and advocated for us.
My husband was admitted to the ER via ambulance with what looked to be a STEMI on ECG. When we arrived, I was asked to wait in the waiting room, and he was put in a room where he had an X-ray, labs drawn, and IV fluids started. The ER was extremely busy, with tons of people. I believe they called a code triage while we were there due to the number of patients waiting and incoming ambulances. Jeszrene "Faith" Ebrada was so attentive; even though she was extremely busy, she took the time to explain everything she was doing before she did it, including the plan, the orders for tests, etc. Faith took the time to check on other nurses' patients, for example, one that kept yelling, and I heard her being polite and caring while helping them calm down. She then went out of her way to assist another team member in drawing labs on a confused patient who was not cooperating. Her kindness, empathy, and knowledge made my husband and I feel like we were in good hands and that we had a nurse who listened to our concerns and advocated for us. My husband had a kidney transplant a couple of years ago, so I was also worried about the condition of his kidney. Thankfully, my husband did not have a heart attack but had a critically low phosphorus level, which can sometimes happen to transplant patients. He was discharged after some IV phosphorus and more lab work later that day. In a hurry to get out, my husband left his cell phone on the sheets on the stretcher! So, from the parking garage, I called, and Faith answered! She met us at the emergency room doors with his cell phone! This saved us from waiting in the long line to try and explain the situation to security. Faith is a great nurse, and she made our bad day a little more bearable.
