Jill was an exceptional nurse for my wife, K, after she was hit by a drunk driver. Jill was extremely caring. She always checked that K's vital signs were stabilized and informed the medical team of any changes. She also made sure that K was as comfortable as possible at all times. She helped keep her clean and nourished in a very rough period for our family. I knew I didn't have to worry about K's comfort level if Jill was on duty. I witnessed a deep sense of empathy in Jill and knew she was getting the best care possible. Since Jill was on at night, I often tried to sleep during her shift. I was in a state of shock and survival mode and sleep was mostly difficult. However, with Jill, I felt comfortable and understood that she would be as safe as possible. She made it very easy to feel as confident as possible with the situation.
Jill's warmth helped my entire family cope with a significant tragedy. Many other family members remember and talk today about how great she was more than a year later. Thank you, Jill, for all of your hard work and dedication. We want you to know we will never forget how your compassion helped us all.
