Earlier this week, Jill was caring for an elderly patient that needed his dentures cleaned. Upon the patient handing the dentures to Jill, they slipped out of both of their hands to the floor and cracked in half. As you can imagine, Jill was devastated. So much so, that she took it upon herself to find a fast solution to fix the broken dentures. After much research and many phone calls, Jill found a place nearby that could actually fix the dentures instead of having to wait for new ones to be made. She immediately gave this information to the patient's wife and his dentures were brought in and fixed by the next day for a fairly inexpensive price compared to how much it would've cost to get new ones. This patient and his wife were very grateful and impressed with Jill's perseverance to help this situation. I feel that Jill qualifies for a DAISY Award by going above and beyond her role as a nurse and truly wanting to personally help the patient and his wife.
