I felt she was non-judgmental, and I felt comfortable speaking to her about my situation with my partner.
I gave birth to my baby boy in January 2024 and Jo was the midwife who looked after me. Whilst pregnant, my partner was locked up, and I found out my baby had a rare problem with his foot. Jo made me feel really supported. There was not a time she did not reply to my messages or answer/return my phone calls and did not make me feel like any questions I was asking about my pregnancy or baby were silly, even if I thought some of them were. She communicated with me so well, and I looked forward to my appointments with her. I felt she was non-judgmental, and I felt comfortable speaking to her about my situation with my partner. Having a good bond with my midwife helped make my whole experience of being pregnant with my first baby a positive, enjoyable one.

When I gave birth, Jo came to visit us both in the hospital, and it is little things like that, what people do for you, that you remember for life. I was not expecting her to come, and it was a really nice surprise, especially as I did not have many visitors. I googled what I could do to show appreciation and found that I could nominate her for this, and I think she really deserves it. I’ve worked with many professionals in my life as I have been in and out of the care system, and Jo is one I will not forget. She is one of the most kind and caring women I have come across. Thank you, Jo, for being you.
