During my duty in CCU one day, I was in the left side CCU cubic entering discharge summary for one patient after finishing the daily round, bedside sister who was taking care of a patient (who is chronic bedridden patient with anoxic brain damage long stay patient) came running to me and told me that patient has ventricular tachycardia showing in the bedside Cardiac Monitor. I ran to the patient to find he is really in VT but luckily with a pulse and responded well to medication and reverted to sinus rhythm pharmacologically. I saw Miss Joanne Dulay helped bedside sister in giving medication to abort the VF and extracting blood to help assess patient's metabolic situation. Because the prompt recognition of the arrhythmia and the quick response of the two sisters the patient's condition was stabilized.
I think sister Joanne Dulay set an example for good help and cooperation of nursing staff when someone needed it most, without complaining of double workload. She demonstrates the good teamwork to save all patients.
