Under her guidance and advocacy, we have seen a remarkable increase in both the number of staff who sign up to be mentored and the number of leaders who volunteer as mentors. This surge in participation is a testament to Jodi's ability to inspire and motivate others, creating a robust network of support and development for our nursing leaders.
Jodi as a leader is very knowledgeable and yet, very humble. Her wealth of knowledge and experience was evident in the redesign of the KP NCAL mentorship program. Under Jodi’s leadership, this program has seen a tremendous increase in the number of staff being mentored and the number of leaders who have signed up to mentor others. Jodi’s commitment to creating teams that are equipped to use critical thinking in the care of KP members is seen in her continued devotion to refining training modules put together to educate staff and leaders on the process of both mentoring and peer feedback. Her work in ensuring newly hired CNEs and ACNEs feel welcomed and ready for their roles in KP remains commendable as she works with this group of leaders during their onboarding process to ensure they are set up to succeed in their roles.
In this writer’s opinion, Jodi embodies the Caritas process #2 (Inspire: Being authentically present) and #7 (Balance: Engaging in transpersonal teaching and learning within the context of caring relationship; staying within other's frame of reference; shift toward coaching model for expanded health/wellness). Jodi continues to inspire both clinical nurses and leaders alike by being authentically present during in-person and virtual meetings. Even though Jodi has held executive roles in her nursing career, she remains humble and relatable. Jodi’s role in launching the peer feedback and self-appraisal remains commendable. In working with the team, Jodi takes all received feedback in humility and reflects them in the work so that the needs of the staff and leaders are met.
The common feedback I hear from nurses and leaders at the medical center is that “they can count on Jodi to respond back to them in a timely manner.” This is an example of a leader who is accessible, available, and responsive to the needs of the team. Jodi is an embodiment of grace, kindness, caring, and humility, and I feel privileged to work with and learn from her. Jodi is a champion for nursing excellence as is evident in her work with both the regional and local Magnet teams.

Jodi has led significant efforts to increase nurse mentorship throughout the region. Jodi also plays a key role in promoting nursing shared governance and empowers nurse clinicians to become active in professional governance. Jodi is a role model and leads by example. She exudes a calm and caring attitude in all that she does and with everyone she interacts with and supports. I am honored to call Jodi a colleague!

It is with great honor that I nominate Jodi Galli for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. Jodi has been an exemplary leader in our organization, demonstrating unwavering passion and commitment to nursing leadership and mentorship. Her impactful contributions have significantly enhanced our nursing community and fostered a culture of continuous growth and excellence.
Jodi previously served as a Chief Nursing Executive (CNE), where she showcased her exceptional leadership skills and dedication to advancing nursing practices. Currently, she mentors CNEs and serves as a regional nurse leader, where her influence continues to resonate throughout our organization.
One of Jodi's most notable achievements is her fervent support of the KP Mentoring Program.
Additionally, Jodi played a pivotal role in the ongoing redesign of the KP NCAL Peer Feedback system. Her innovative approach and strategic thinking have led to a more effective and meaningful feedback process, ultimately enhancing the professional growth and performance of our nursing staff.
Jodi's leadership was also instrumental in the kick-off and sustainability of the Regional Nurse Excellence Governance Council (RNEGC). Through her vision and dedication, the RNEGC has become a cornerstone of our nursing excellence initiatives, promoting high standards of practice and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Jodi Galli embodies the essence of a DAISY Nurse Leader. Her passion for mentorship, commitment to excellence, and transformative leadership have made a profound impact on our organization. She is a true role model and an inspiration to all who have the privilege of working with her.

I wish to nominate and celebrate Jodi Galli as she truly makes an impact in creating a caring culture. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Jodi since she joined our team in November of 2023. When Jodi joined, she had one request. She would take on all the work and responsibilities of her new role and wanted to continue to support the Magnet journey. This is the beauty of the larger Scholars Academy team; while we own our roles and responsibilities, we also work seamlessly with other teams in the academies to support processes that lead to our mutually desired outcomes. Specifically, Jodi continues to provide support, mentor, and engage frontline nurses to empower them in shared decision-making. Jodi does this by creating an environment of trust while encouraging nurses at all levels to continue their professional development. Jodi embodies Caritas Process #7 by meeting nurses where they are and leading them toward a shared vision and purpose along the Magnet journey. Jodi nurtures caring moments because she knows that every moment matters. Jodi consistently shows up and exemplifies what it looks like to be compassionate, ethical, and nurturing so that others feel safe to be their authentic self and be their best self for their colleagues and the members we serve. I feel so fortunate to work with Jodi and have her on my team.
