I was helping my husband unload steel siding for our garage. My husband was in the loader and I was putting 2X4's on the ground under the siding so it could be lowered onto them and not on the ground. I don't know how it happened but the bucket dropped pinning my right hand and forearm under the 800# of steel. When I was brought into the ER, the ER was very busy with several patients. Jodi came immediately and got another nurse to be with the other patients. She just took over the situation - got me on the cart, put on more ice packs, gave me a shot for pain, took me to x-ray and assisted x-ray by staying with me the whole time. She helped lift and place my arm and hand on the x-ray tray. My arm was very swollen and painful. Then I was taken back to the ER and Jodi was excellent. She made sure I was comfortable, more ice packs placed and another shot for pain. When the x-rays came back and nothing was broken, all of us could not believe it. We said our thank you prayers. She then got a sling and was very careful when she put it on my arm. Jodi was excellent! She was kind, caring, excellent nurse. Her goal was to help and give great care. She deserves the DAISY Award!
