I still cry tears of joy, every time I speak about my labor and delivery with my son, and I will never be able to thank Jodi enough for making it such a positive experience.
It would be hard for me to believe if Jodi hasn’t yet been nominated or received a DAISY Award, because there is no doubt that she has positively affected most, if not all her patients. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have had her as my nurse. I consider it a gift from God that she was assigned to my care.
From the moment she walked into my room she had a smile on her face and a plan of action for a healthy, uneventful labor and delivery. She listened intently to every concern I had and was proactive by giving me the appropriate treatment necessary to ensure a healthy mom and baby. She was constantly aware of my vitals both in and out of the room and noted any deceleration and reacted swiftly to it. Complications from previous labor with my oldest child left me anxious. I informed her about this situation, and she was taking precautions and doing all that she could to alleviate my anxiety. She communicated this information with my doctor and reached out to him when my stats changed. They took the necessary precautions and she stayed by my side until my vitals returned to normal, making any adjustments necessary to ensure my comfort and safety.
Not only is she quick-witted and superior at her job, but she is relatable and kind. We swapped stories about our families and careers, and just life in general. She speaks highly of her job and seems to still love what she does well into her career. I believe she treated me as well as she’d treat her own family member. Since my own mom wasn’t there in the room with me, I truly felt like she stepped into a mom role and encouraged me every step of the way, the way a mother would. She also treated my husband like he was part of the team, asking him if he needed anything, keeping him informed, and providing him with snacks and extra pillows. He felt so comfortable with her and trusted the care she was providing.
Without a doubt, Jodi was an integral part of our incredible experience at Monument Hospital. I consider myself blessed that she was my primary nurse and I will remember her and this monumental life event, with only the fondest of memories. I didn’t know that care, this superb, existed and she absolutely set the bar high and left a lasting impression as to what a good nurse should be. I still cry tears of joy, every time I speak about my labor and delivery with my son, and I will never be able to thank Jodi enough for making it such a positive experience. Every single pregnant momma needs a Jodi! I am recognizing her for her excellence, compassion, dedication, and attention to detail. Jodi is more than just a nurse; she was made for this and I know she will continue to provide outstanding care in the years to come. We love you, Jodi.
