When my wife and I first arrived from Santa Rosa, my 93-year-old father was coma-like and I don't believe he knew we were there so we went back to the hotel, got up the next morning and went for an early morning walk when Joel called and told me that if we wanted to come back, my dad was alert at the moment with his eyes open, so we quickly went back and I was able to talk to him (he wasn't able to speak) for about two hours which I cherish. This was the last time I was able to talk to him. Then we got him into hospice and he passed away early the next morning. But it was Joel who took the time to call me and let me know he was alert - without that call I never would have had the chance to talk to my dad. So I wanted you to know how conscientious I thought Joel was and how grateful I am to him. Joel always got the doctor on the phone for us, something else Joel did for us and we were very impressed. He made all the difference, because if he hadn't taken the time to call me early that morning, I never would have been able to talk to my father.
