Wow, I am impressed by the level of care and dedication to the services that John offers. I felt safe, and he listened to every single minute that John cared for me. He made sure to establish a “human connection” through gentle words and a kind touch that offered respect. His attitude was pleasant and consistent. He was courteous towards me as the patient as well as my husband. He was able to demonstrate critical thinking skills and make decisions that followed the best evidence while listening to my needs. His professionalism was evident through his high-quality care of me as well as when interacting with the PCA working with him. He made me feel understood as a whole, addressing not only my physical or medical well-being but also my mental health. He served as a role model for the PCA with how he communicated and treated me. He also ensured I understood what was going on for the entire process of my treatment. I felt I could trust him; once again, he made me feel safe. He definitely deserves recognition, for he is an amazing role model in the nursing community and an outstanding caregiver to patients in such delicate times.
