He encouraged me to keep fighting and showed tremendous compassion towards my family and me during this time of crisis.
I was rushed to Cox Branson ER by my family for a post tonsillectomy hemorrhage. As we were attempting to explain the situation to registration, John came through the waiting room after his shift and on his way home. By then I was lying on the floor throwing up blood. He immediately jumped into action. He scooped me off the floor and took me immediately to a room. He called for backup, started an IV for blood transfusion, and updated the doctors as he worked. John stayed with me the entire time, helping me become stable. He encouraged me to keep fighting and showed tremendous compassion towards my family and me during this time of crisis. I then needed to be transferred to Springfield, and John went out of his way to make sure I got on the ambulance before he finally left for home. John put me first before himself that day, and he saved my life.

My family was having a fun day at Table Rock Lake. As we were getting ready for a boat ride, my 4-year-old daughter got a fish hook stuck deep in the pad of her hand by her thumb. Not being from this area, I did a quick Google search, and we made the drive to Cox Branson. John was my daughter's nurse; she is usually a spunky girl, but she was scared. John calmly explained what was happening. He assisted with the x-rays, holding her hand steady to make sure the x-rays would show if there was tendon damage. He answered a bunch of questions from my now curious daughter, all the while cleaning and bandaging up the thumb area. My daughter felt safe and comfortable with John. He applied a waterproof bandage so she could go swimming that day. The part she loved most was the stuffed bunny John gave her for being so brave. Thank you, John and staff, for making this traumatic situation less so for my daughter and her family.
