I woke on Monday running low on sleep, reeling from being NPO, and afraid of having to have yet another surgery on my knee. When speaking to the Ortho PA about my less-than-desirable options for OPAT and outpatient treatment for my knee, I broke down and started crying. I managed to keep it together until Ortho left, but the door clicked shut and I started sobbing and Jonathan immediately noticed, talked to me, calmed me down, and put me at ease. I profusely apologized, I was embarrassed, and he was quick to make it clear that I was his patient and that he would be there for me if I needed anything.
Jonathan kept his word. He answered my pages quickly when I needed more migraine medicine. He took the time to talk to me and explain what all of my options meant, he checked on me frequently throughout the day and gave me updates if notes were added to my chart so that I could keep my family updated.
What should have been and probably would have been a scary, upsetting, and confusing day for me ended up being a good day. I can honestly say that if it weren't for Jonathanand his kindness, I would have been absolutely distraught by the time the sun went down. I sincerely hope that he is openly recognized for being a genuinely good person, an exemplary employee, and a delight to talk to. Thank you for everything!
