I have been struggling with my physical and mental health for many years, and I am on track for an early death. I have not always received great healthcare or had a healthcare professional who could relate to or trust to really care about me. That all changed when Nurse Jon joined my primary care team at Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital. He has not only been a fantastic nurse but my #1 advocate and a friend to me. He always looks out for me, is quick to respond to secure messages I send, and takes as much time as I need out of his days and weeks to be there for me, whether it is to give advice or to give test results, or simply to listen. With his dedication to duty and service, I have been able to make great strides this past year to begin the path to mental and physical health restoration. I have hope again. I do not think this would be possible without Jon being on my side and in my corner, fighting for me and encouraging me to fight for myself and my well-being. I can proudly say that I am no longer on the path to dying. I'm in the fast lane to thriving with the best of the best nurse on my side to make sure I keep going. Simply put, Jon goes above and beyond in every way imaginable, and I am so thankful he is my nurse.
