RN
Surgical Unit
Yuma Regional Medical Center
Joselyn made me feel like I mattered, would take all the time I needed with me, and helped in more ways than I thought another nurse could.
As a nurse myself, and now a patient admitted for 5 days, away from my infant, away from my family because of COVID restrictions, this admission was especially difficult. I had many nurses, but none went above and beyond like Joselyn. The unit was busy, and she had many patients; however, Joselyn made me feel like I mattered, would take all the time I needed with me, and helped in more ways than I thought another nurse could.
I expect nurses to be great. But Joselyn, you are amazing! Conversing with you helped alleviate some pain, your presence made me feel comfortable and like I had a friend. You exceeded my expectations and set the bar high. You have taught me that even I can improve and be a better nurse! You advocated for me when I could and didn't even know I needed to. Your compassion was evident in your care. You respected me as a patient and valued my concerns and input. You are the perfect example of what a nurse should be. Thank you so very much for the attention you gave me, for the amazing care, and for making this admission a little less awful. I hope to run into you one day and catch up when I'm back to my normal self.
