I would like to express my immense gratitude, for the exceptional service provided by Joe G. I would like to briefly explain how he conducts himself. First of all, he's very aware that I suffer from chronic pain (two dislocated shoulders, five broken disks in my back, four operations on my right knee, constructive neck surgery, arthritis, and more). Naturally, with each new nurse, I explain that I have built a tolerance to pain medications through the years, but nobody can predict or be on time except Joe. Somehow and someway, he was able to give me my pain medications consistently five minutes before it was due to make sure I had my pain medications on time.
When you ask others for coffee, they take 45 minutes to bring it to you. I understand that they are called for other medical tasks. Joe instead, immediately brings me coffee in case he's called to deal with a medical emergency. He's aware of my physical changes, he's the only one to extend his hands to help me get into position to take my medications. He's the only one to walk into my room to organize and clean my table.
Due to my physical challenges, I keep dropping things, he's always helpful to pick these things up for me. Before he leaves at the end of his shift, he made sure I was comfortably seated in my bed, empties the urinal, and makes sure that I have water. Every time he comes into my room, he's always very polite when he comes and asks me if I have slept even a little bit knowing that I have trouble sleeping.
As an employer of 28 years, I absolutely respect and admire people who put so much pride and dedication into their work like Joe. The accumulation of team members such as Joe makes a hospital great. I'm so impressed with Joe that it's the first time I wrote a letter of compliment for a nurse. I hope that his supervisors recognize him to the point where Memorial Hospital can be his dream job and teach others his ways.
