Joe is a great nurse with a great personality that just has a way of putting people at ease.
I had an awesome experience when I brought my 4- year-old son into the ED. My son had been sick but this particular night he was having respiratory issues. As a nurse and as a mother this was a very scary experience. I had given him several breathing treatments during the early morning hours but he only improved a little and his breathing was very noisy. I am so glad that we brought him to the emergency room. The check-in process was very smooth and everyone we encountered was great. There was one particular nurse who stood out, Joe. We were met with a smile and felt that he truly wanted to take care of our son.
We explained what had been going on and he quickly started getting him on the monitor all the while assuring us that he was okay. He was quick with our care and he went above and beyond to make sure our son was comfortable and that he was not scared. He also made sure that we were comfortable and had what we needed. He was very good with my son. His wonderful personality and smiling face put my son and us at ease. His laugh is infectious and he always has a smile on his face.

I had to visit St. Luke’s ER. When I first got here they were in the middle of shift change. Again everyone I encountered was great. I could hear Joe’s laugh from the nurses' station and I told my husband. “I hope Joe is my nurse.” Sure enough, he comes walking into my room, and even with a mask, you could see that there was a smile there. His warming personality and his true concern for me put me at ease. He asked me if I needed anything and then told me that the Doctor had ordered some IV fluids and some medications. He went to get everything he needed and then came back in, started my IV, and gave me my medications. Joe is a great nurse with a great personality that just has a way of putting people at ease. He again has a personality that is welcoming and calming. His laughter is infectious. He always goes above and beyond and just has an overall great nurse.
