Nurse Josh told us to bring pictures and he would put them in her room. Nurse Josh went out of his way to bring my mother and my family comfort during this trying time.
Nurse Josh Holt is the epitome of what Florence Nightingale hoped a nurse would be. My mother spent the last 20 days of her life in your hospital in the ER and ICU. She was a cancer patient and was diagnosed with Covid-19 upon admittance to your hospital. Because of covid, my family was denied the right to see her or to be with her. This was tragic for all of us as my mother was exceptionally close to her children as we were with her. For eight days, we heard nothing from the hospital unless we called and we did not see our mother. However, on the ninth day, Nurse Josh Holt told us that we could look in my mother's window and see her. We did! Nurse Josh went into her room and roused her so that she could see us. The five minutes each day that we saw her and waved to her, meant so much to us and to our mother. Nurse Josh told us to bring pictures and he would put them in her room. Nurse Josh went out of his way to bring my mother and my family comfort during this trying time. Nurse Josh called me every night before his shift ended and gave me an update on my mother. When Nurse Josh was my mother's nurse, we felt welcome in the hospital and we felt that someone cared about my mother and her family. Nurse Josh is wonderful! He even called to give his condolences to my family once my mother passed away. Nurse Josh was kind, professional, empathetic, sympathetic, and humane while being professional and not breaking protocol. He is an excellent role model for any employee of your hospital.
