Recently Josh had an idea to improve the experience for the families of our hospice patients in the hospital. He felt that if families had a few snacks provided to them in the patients' room that it would maximize the time families are able to spend with their loved ones and make them feel well cared for as well. As you know when you are holding vigil at the bedside your own needs tend to fall by the wayside. This was one small way we could help provide support.

Josh started working from the ground up in speaking to the dietary team and unit managers. When he reached out about this idea he had already gone as far as to have the hospital dietary team working on the presentation of gift baskets for the food items as well as a cart where coffee could be delivered on. We were able to take this and gain approval from the hospital to provide these snack carts to families on hospice. The first hospitality carts started to be delivered last week and are making such a difference for our grieving families. This is just one example of how Josh cares for our hospice patients and their families.
