The art of healing is often wrapped up in acts of kindness. The encounter between Josh Crittenden and a patient in St. John Medical Center's neurotrauma ICU lasted only two days, but a family member of the patient found them extraordinary.
"Joshua has a special place in my heart," wrote the family member. "He demonstrated the perfect balance of professionalism and compassion while taking such wonderful care of my mom. He talked to her the whole time he was in her room. His assessment was the most thorough I had ever seen. He was available and attentive to her needs from the beginning of his shift to the end. While I understand it is his job, you should know that he performed all of these tasks with a sensitivity level that goes well above the norm."
