As a Clinical III Nurse in Surgical Services, Joy Lanfranchi, RN, CNOR is well-known for her enthusiastic pursuit of excellence. She has published articles in the respected AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurses) Journal on such topics as safety precautions in the electrosurgical unit, as well as "Instituting Code Blue Drills in the OR," the title of her most recent article. Joy has directly enhanced surgical practices at the medical center through her Clinical III projects, which included real-time operating room simulation for 20 classes, complete with an instructor, anesthesiologist and surgeon.

As a colleague notes, Joy's passion is "working in the thick of surgery nursing and loving every minute of it!"
