Joyce comes in each day with a positive outlook and always gets her patients motivated to get up and work on getting well. After being in the hospital for 3 weeks, I truly looked forward to the days she walked into my room. She is the nurse who, with her years of experience, knows how to read her patients and can tell what they are up to versus what they can accomplish. She is also the nurse who truly listens, so she knows her patient’s style of communication. Many times, a nurse can come into a room and feel like she is doing what is best for the patient, but in turn is really making the patient shut down and not want to work toward going home.
