"There is something special about Judy. She is lovely, friendly, and intuitive. She somehow knows how to deal with my husband, who is currently suffering from hospital delirium/psychosis. He has been difficult to nurse. He has been combative, throwing things, speaking hatefully, and downright dangerous and unpredictable. And when Judy comes in, she absolutely lights up the room, and my husband feels nurtured and understood. I also felt he had an old friend. She made every task full of jokes galore, which captivated my husband. He acted quite a bit more normal; he was relaxed, and for that time, he was happy. He was able to sleep, something he was struggling with. You cannot imagine the difference that Judy makes not only to the patient being more content but also to the family feeling secure.
