I entered Bartow Regional at 2:00 AM after having severe abdominal pain. The next day I had my gall bladder removed. I was very sad and upset because I was by myself and all my family lives up North. Julia Burton saw my situation and stayed by my side and talked to me. She was so sweet and kind. The next morning my son called and asked to speak to the nurse, it was Julia. She was so articulate, kind, knowledgeable, and very professional as she spoke to my son. Because of her sweet kind words my son felt I was in good hands and was not worried about my care. He also told me he was impressed by Julia's gracious, compassionate care concerning his mom; I was so happy with Julia Burton that I asked for a paper to write about her. She gave me this DAISY Award sheet. I am at home now doing well and happy for Julia and how she made my day and helped me get through my stay at Bartow Regional. Our hospitals need more nurses like Julia who care and take time to listen. I loved all the nurses who took care of me at Bartow Regional, but Julia was the best!
