We still have many questions about my husband's future, but I am certain that if he were readmitted, Julie would do all she could to provide him with safe, quality, compassionate care, education, and support.
My husband spent time in November and December on the Cardiac Unit (2 separate admissions).  During this time, we were shocked to learn that he had a very serious illness that may be terminal.  He will be going to UC Health to discuss options, including a transplant.  This was a scary time for our family.  Julie was a calming presence.  She told us what was happening, and what to expect, and went over everything with my husband.  She went out of her way to be in contact with providers to find out what the plan was and what was discussed in the room with my husband (if she had missed them).  This helped her to plan her care and education, specifically to what my husband had going on that day.  She was friendly and patient.  She provided education to my husband so he could understand his role in his care in and out of the hospital.  I just really want Julie and her supervisor to know how much I appreciate her.  My husband was able to be independent in the room and mostly did his own thing, so for most of our stay, we didn’t see nursing much.  Julie was a much-needed presence during a time that was scary for us.  We still have many questions about my husband's future, but I am certain that if he were readmitted, Julie would do all she could to provide him with safe, quality, compassionate care, education, and support.

Julie took care of my dad after a heart attack. Unfortunately, during that stay, we found out that he has cancer that has spread. She was incredibly kind and competent. I fully trusted her as one of the most capable and competent medical professionals I’ve been around. Even though I knew she was busy, she never once made us feel like she was in a rush. She was kind. When I cried to her about my dad’s situation, she hugged me. That hug meant so much to me. I’ve been a CNA for years, and I know that not every nurse goes above and beyond for her patients and their families the way she did.
