In December I came to see my patient on six center. I asked the desk about the nurse taking care of him. The nurse Julie Harville, RN left her computer and presented herself in a nice professional way saying, "I am taking care of your patient, how can I help you?" I described the patient's condition and what I needed to do for him and asked her for a few supplies. She immediately called the central supply and asked to tube what I needed for the patient. It happened that I had another patient to see on the same floor. After I was done, I went back to the first patient and I saw Julie in the room along with all the supplies I needed at the bedside. During the procedure of inserting a certain catheter, she was talking and comforting the patient at the same time helping me. When I was done, she asked if there was anything else she could help me with. I thanked her several times for the help. The next day the patient pulled out his catheter and I had to repeat the same procedure. Julie had all the supplies I needed and was ready to assist me again. I feel compelled to express how impressed I was with Julie's professionalism, compassionate care, knowledge, and readiness of her exceptional work. She is a very devoted and capable nurse and I think she is a great asset to Ascension Macomb Hospital.
