My daughter was brought to the ER due to an overdose. The detoxing process is an emotional time for a parent as your child cries, gets angry, shuts down, curses, and tells you she wants to die.
Kalina treated us like family and went above and beyond not only for my daughter but for her dad and me. She was attentive and understanding and never showed one ounce of frustration or negative vibes, despite the things my daughter was saying. Kalina just kept a smile as she showed compassion, knowing it was embarrassing and not normal for my daughter to act this way. I never felt like she was judging or stereotyping my family. She never showed anything but the personality of "one outstanding nurse" as she sat with my daughter, one-on-one, during most of her shift. She even reached out before leaving. I can never thank her enough.
