Kara was a fabulous nurse to work with both before and after surgery. Scheduled for a procedure that made me quite nervous, she coordinated with my family and me to arrange leave so I could feel as secure and comfortable as possible after my surgery. I will never forget that the day after my surgery, when my leave provider called to inquire about leave, Kara checked in with her usual bright and cheerful demeanor. With a laugh, she told me, "You tell your leave provider that if they have any questions about your surgery, they should call me instead of the patient who just had surgery and needs to rest." It is so special to find a nurse who can match your energy, relate to another person so well, and work tirelessly to ensure that patients and their families feel cared for and respected.
