Karen was thorough, patient, and empathic with my family member.
My cousin was recently on the unit after a prolonged stay at a different hospital system. She was transferred to the acute rehab unit at Woodstock Hospital. Karen was her primary RN. I came for a visit and when I arrived, my family member told me that she had hope for the first time in weeks thanks to Karen and her peers on the unit. It was a moving moment and I noticed that Karen was crying along with us.
Karen was thorough, patient, and empathic with my family member. She was open and sharing the information she could provide to me as a POA. I knew my family member was in good hands with Karen. It was literally a breath of fresh air to work with such a caring and involved RN. I want to take off my "healthcare hat" to share my personal experience. Thank you so much, Karen, for understanding how important your compassion and caring were to not just your patient, but to my experience as a family member as well. You are the best of nursing!
