My 91-year-old mother was hospitalized for almost 3 weeks after a fall. She had serious abdominal issues, in addition to the unknown effect of a head injury. Kate Forbes was extraordinarily caring and attentive to my mother, as well as my sister and me during our visits. I believe that her service to us was uncommonly patient, thorough and kind --- we were always so relieved when she was on duty. She was everything a family could hope and pray for as a caregiver, and a wonderful representative for the Unity Point system. She communicated a deeply genuine concern for all of us, and a willingness to do whatever she possibly could to help us. She clearly was very knowledgeable about health care, and exuded great empathy during an emotional time for us. She administered all procedures with wisdom and sensitivity to my mother's needs, from dealing with drainage tubes to IVs to checking vitals. Thank you for this forum to honor such a remarkable person --- we will always be grateful for the care and kindness Kate Forbes gave us!
