I am writing this letter to commend Katelynn Bennett, one of your CVICU staff members, for her dedication and professionalism during my admission to the CVICU unit this past week for clots in both my legs and lungs. Her attention to my needs, and concerns made this very serious issue I found myself facing considerably more bearable for both myself and my wife.

Her compassion and attention to detail made things much easier for us. Our questions were given prompt, understandable responses that made dealing with such a situation as I was experiencing much less stressful and easier to deal with going forward. The answers were always courteous and provided us with the needed information to make informed decisions during my time at Wilson. The comfort level she provided for my wife and I helped immensely in getting us through the stress of the situation, and resolving both during my stay, and upon my exiting of the unit to go home with proper information, and the prescription I required.

We had an unusual and stressful situation in dealing with the prescription I required with the CVS pharmacy. The pharmacy, due to lack of proper dosage units, had informed us that the prescription was to cost $8000, which was not only absurd, but untenable for us. She again stepped in along with the cardiologist, spoke with your UHS pharmacy, and resolved the matter quickly for us by getting the prescription filled immediately at a reasonable expense to us at your pharmacy. Her quick actions and experience resolved this issue without added stress.

For the reasons listed here, I would like to provide our sincere thanks to Katelynn and the rest of the wonderful staff we dealt with during my stay, and I would like to put our recommendation in for Katelynn to receive a DAISY Award. Again, we would like to thank everyone for the support, understanding, and help we received during my stay.
