In a day filled with chaos and stress I followed the giggling sounds into a patient's room to find a patient, who is ordinarily crying in pain when her wound vac is being changed, crying giggling tears while popping bubble wrap. Katherine stood with the patient laughing as well - a new innovative way to manage pain. It's moments like this that endear Katherine to her patients. You can see it in her eyes that when she cares for a patient, she genuinely cares for that patient. She feels their ups and downs, and sincerely celebrates their wins or mourns their losses.
