Katherine "McCall" Anderson is my role model as a nurse. She always goes above and beyond to care for not only her patients but all members of her team of coworkers. She is truly the most selfless person that I know. Even if I am having a horrible night, if McCall is charge nurse, I know that I will successfully make it through. She helps without asking and anticipates your needs as a nurse.

For example, one night we were very short staffed, and all had 6 patients. Without anyone asking for help, McCall not only gave medications to at least one patient in everyone's group, she personally took one of the highest acuity patients on the floor as her patient to alleviate the patient care load of each nurse. She has stayed late a multitude of times to help day shift on days that they are short-staffed. McCall always brightens the mood of any patient she encounters. She will not clock out until she makes sure that everyone is okay and is not in need of help. McCall is a true example of a leader and caregiver. I could not think of anyone more deserving of this award.
