Walking into the ICU department was very scary for me and my son. Kathleen was my son's nurse and from the beginning she made us feel at ease with everything. She took her time explaining everything that she was doing and what was going to happen. She knew my son hated needles and she was so wonderful with him. When she was putting in the IV lines he didn’t even feel it. He was having to have his blood drawn every four hours. He was having issues overnight and had to get stuck several times. Kathleen asked the staff if they could add another line in his left arm while he was under for his procedure so he wouldn’t have to get poked so many times. She was an amazing person and nurse and so thankful she cared for my son. When we were being released she found out my son's prescription was $300.00. She took it upon herself to help us out and look for a coupon. She was also able to get the prescription switched from the pharmacy at the hospital to my local one and that also saved us some money. I can’t say thank you enough to her for the care she gave my son during his time in the ICU.
