My husband and I were traveling from Michigan to our home in North Carolina and I was at about 33 weeks pregnant. When my water broke in route, we were transferred to Carilion, and the medical staff has been phenomenal for our situation.
After giving birth to our son, he was placed in the amazing care of the NICU staff, and one nurse stood out to us. A young, vibrant woman, Kathryn Baker, has been taking care of our son along with other preemies. She has a down-to-earth personality, maintains an enlightening atmosphere when we come to the NICU for care times, and has been more than willing to give us sound advice, information, and knowledge to keep our minds at ease as new parents.
We have been appreciative of the doctors and nurses at this hospital for handling our unexpected surprise with pride, and Kathryn has been one of those amazing individuals. Thank you for your tender love and care for our delicate little boy!
